Commercial Espresso machine

nera-new-2-group-rails-small.jpg

Purchasing a new commercial espresso machine can be a trying time- there are many many brands being sold on the UK market.

Brands range from Cimbali, San Marco, Ranchillio - how do you choose which one? Which is the best espresso machine in the UK?

I would of course say the machines at Verde Coffee, but that aside the questions that need to be answered, I think, are

- How long is the warranty [ make sure its on-site ]

- What does the warranty cover

-What is the service back up

- Are the Engineers employed by the supplier
The technology is stable and common across most manufacturers so the most important thing to look for is finish - Avoid plastic panels which can look good when the machine is new but deteriorate rapidly so that after a few months the machine can look tatty.

Enquire about the galvanisation on the frame - the one item that cannot be replaced if it gets rusty.

Finally get an indication of spare part prices - the Faema spares are “eye watering”!
